WOODEN CLEANING – POWERFUL TET

Tet is also a good opportunity for you and your family to renovate your home in preparation for the new year. Let's learn how to clean and polish wooden furniture with Adorn Museum to make Tet cleaning easier and more efficient!

I. Cleaning varnished wood surfaces

Many families prefer varnished hardwood furniture not only for its elegant appearance but also for its durability and sturdiness. The varnish on the wood brightens it and protects it from insects. However, if this varnish layer is not cleaned regularly, it will lose its eye-catching natural brilliance. You can use the following methods to polish this type of wood surface:

1. Wipe with milk:

Pour a little milk on the wood surface to be cleaned, let it dry, and then gently scrub it with a brush soaked in water. This approach, while efficient in making the varnish layer stronger and more glossy, cannot be used on large furniture, and it must also be cleaned to avoid remaining milk-attracting insects.

2. Wipe with beer or paraffine oil:

Wipe away obstinate stains with a soft cloth soaked in beer or paraffin oil. Remember to polish the wood surface with pine oil if you use paraffine oil to clean.

3. Use homemade solution:

You can also make your own solution out of olive oil and vinegar. In a spray bottle or soak it in a soft cloth, combine olive oil and vinegar in a 4:1 ratio and wipe the wood surface to be cleaned with a towel.

II. Clean unvarnished wood surfaces

Natural wood furniture retains the inherent natural beauty of the wood grain but is a bit more difficult to maintain. You can refer to the following ways to clean this wooden surface:

1. Clean with diluted bleach:

Sweep the solution over the wood surface after mixing it with 10g of salt, 90g of bleach, and 1 liter of water. When the solution has dried, wash the furniture once with cold water and then dry it; it will be as clean as new.

2. Cleaning with vinegar solution:

Make a 1:3 solution of vinegar and water and dab it on the wood; this solution has a very good long-term stain-removal effect. Then, using a clean towel soaked in fresh tea or green tea, clean the furniture multiple times until it is clean.

Wooden furniture is usually very beautiful and long-lasting, but it is essential to maintain and clean it properly so that it is constantly clean and beautiful and does not shorten its lifespan. I hope the advice in this post is useful to you. Follow the Adorn Museum's articles for the more useful information!
