MULTI-FUNCTIONAL CORRIDOR DESIGN TRENDS

People frequently attempt to make the most of the available space in small dwellings. As a result, a space frequently serves many purposes. For instance, the kitchen might serve as both an eating area and a nook for a home office. Hallways are currently incorporating multipurpose rooms into their design. These days, this space serves as a gathering spot for family and friends with a small, tidy bar, or it can be used to exhibit art collections. Adorn Museum offers some tips below to assist you in making your home's hallway area.

1. The hall is no longer unoccupied

If you have a small corridor, hang furniture on the wall or choose furniture without legs to give the space an airy impression. You should put multiple light sources in this region, just as you would in the main spaces. In addition to ceiling lighting, you can place table lamps, floor lamps, or accent lights above a work of art. This makes the hallway feel more alive and less like a conventional transition place.

Corridors should be given the same care as the main spaces

You can further enhance the area by decorating the ceiling with a bright paint color or wallpaper. Furthermore, painting the entrance and walls the same color creates the illusion of a larger area.

2. Multifunctional hallway

People rarely spend too much time in the hallway. However, this is the best spot for you to test new ideas without wasting space.

3. Decorative painting wall

The long, narrow passageways are ideal for displaying personal painting collections. Walking through this section will feel like you're in an art display. A typical approach to decorating is to place a giant painting in the center and surround it with smaller paintings. Paintings should be placed at eye level and roughly 1.5 meters from the floor.

4. Corner work

For a working corner in the hallway, you should choose a table without legs that can be attached to the wall to take advantage of the area underneath the table. You can even design long shelves running along the hallway. The bottom shelf is a working corner, where documents and computers are placed. The shelves above are where books, related utensils, and other decorative items are stored.

5. Storage area

Integrating storage space into the hallway will help to keep the room neater and more organized. To make the most of the available space, use sliding door cabinets. In addition, a mirror installed on the exterior door will adorn the hallway while also creating a sense of space. You can also design an LED lighting system to make it easier to find items in the cabinet.

Cabinets in the hallway or beneath the stairs can provide you with more storage space

6. Bar

The bar at the end of the corridor could become a favorite relaxation spot for you and your family. Display beverage bottles and an assortment of mugs and glasses on open shelves to make the space more appealing and inviting. Use strong paint colors, wallpaper, and eye-catching materials to produce a lasting impact.
